Faith Christian serves past Raleigh Christian in straight sets

GOLDSBORO- Faith Christian needed a conference response after consecutive straight-set losses, and the Conquerors delivered in Goldsboro with a 3-0 volleyball win over Raleigh Christian. Faith Christian took the match 25-15, 25-15, 25-16, improving to 4-4 overall and 2-2 in conference play.

The Conquerors controlled the momentum for most of the match, leaning on their serving and back-row play to sustain rallies. Faith Christian finished with 18 aces from seven different players.

Celainey Williams had 10 service points and nine kills for Faith Christian. Bella Finney finished with 13 service points and six digs, while Payton Campbell added two aces and six digs. Adriana Perry posted three aces, nine service points and three kills.

Kaylyn Kelly led the way across the stat sheet with three aces, nine service points, five kills and 11 digs.

The win moved Faith Christian to 3-2 over the past five meetings against Raleigh Christian. The Eagles fell to 2-8 after entering the match with consecutive wins over Fayetteville Street Christian and Mount Calvary Christian.

Faith Christian has three matches in the next five days, beginning with a home match against New Bern Christian on Sept. 18. Raleigh Christian hosts Woodland Baptist on Sept. 18.
